Follow A Life Full of Gratitude

In recent times, much has been made of the word and idea of gratitude but actually we can’t make or say enough about it.

We are taught from an early age that saying ‘Thank you’ is good manners and are reminded when we forget this simple acknowledgement! It seems to somehow smooth the energy between people and creates greater balance. Gratitude has its own frequency and when we and others are drawn into this frequency everything seems easier.

So given that using this simple acknowledgement appears to be universal and something that has been a part of the human experience since the beginning of time, let’s look at some ways to help us make this part of our daily experience.

Starting each day with gratitude is a simple way to set up the energy for the day. As you get out of bed and place one foot and then the other on the ground, saying the words “Thank” and “You” as each foot hits the floor. As you make your way to the bathroom, the coffee machine, the fridge or even the gym, chant the words (in your head!) each time your foot hits the ground. You will have given thanks many times before you leave the house and your day will be filled with flow.

Gratitude sends a message to the universe that we want more of whatever we are giving thanks for. This is good news as all we have to do is focus on what is pleasing us and working for us in our lives, give thanks and then we will get more of it. How simple is that!!

We all have times when our energy is flat, when we feel like there must be a turning we have missed, and gratitude is one sure way to raise our vibration and get us back on track. Looking for simple things to give thanks for is the key here. Nature is one sure way to find those things that delight us, as we can all relate to the beauty and majesty we are surrounded by. A walk by the sea, in trees or in a park will unfailingly lift our spirits as we let everything go and come into gratitude for the beauty we are experiencing.

Our senses are how we take in information about our environment and so using our senses as another pathway to gratitude. The scent of a beautiful flower never fails to bring uplifting feelings. The smell of our favourite food cooking evokes a similar response. The colours that the sky paints every morning and evening, are a treat if we have time to look. The sound of our favourite music, voices and language, also bring us to that space of gratitude.

There are many pathways to gratitude and we just need to be aware in our busy lives that this little ‘reset button’ is available to us in every moment. Gratitude will raise our vibration and make us feel like everything is possible once again.
